For the first post in our new category, I thought I would share a picture of some fantastic Ottoman hats. This comes from the ingenious blog, The Afternoon Map, which contains a whole host of fascinating old maps and documents from Turkey and its environs, showing everything from the distribution of goats and sheep around southern Anatolia to the pre-WWI Ottoman rail network.
