Event dates 18–20 January 2015
The ASEAN Traditional Textile Symposium takes place every two years and offers researchers, industry experts, aficionados and all those who are dedicated to the craft the opportunity to come together and share ideas and experiences. The previous four symposiums were held in ASEAN countries, but this is the first time that it is being held in Thailand. The purpose of the symposium is to enhance and conserve the textiles of ASEAN nations, to develop new techniques in order to produce textiles of quality and quantity, as well as to enhance innovation in production to expand the markets for ASEAN cloth in the world.
This year’s ASEAN Traditional Textile Symposium will cover three days. There is also an optional two-day study tour immediately following the symposium, which will include a visit to one of Thailand’s most famous national landmarks. Early bird registration closes 30 November.
