Event dates 16–19 April 2015
Now in its fifth year, the London Antique Rug and Textile Art Fair (LARTA) will once again take place at The Showroom, Penfold Street, London NW8. It’s a fascinating, souk-like, jewel of an event with twelve specialist dealers in fine and decorative rugs, tribal weavings, tapestries and textiles, including OATG member Joss Graham (who will be exhibiting the Iranian kilim pictured above). Since several of the leading auction houses have ceased to hold dedicated rug sales, LARTA provides a great opportunity for viewing and buying antique rugs in the UK.
The objective of the fair remains to present rare and beautiful antique rugs, carpets and textiles to discerning collectors, decorators and a wider general audience interested in the woven arts and design. Visitors to LARTA 2015 will have the opportunity to source items originating from Anatolia, the Caucasus, Persia, Central Asia, India and China, as well as from Europe and Africa, and from all periods up to the early 20th century.
*SPECIAL NOTE* If you’d like to attend the invitation-only preview evening on 16th April, organiser Pippa Roberts has a handful of invitations available. Email her ASAP at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested, and she will post or email you an invitation.
